Breakwater uses Clerk for identity management, providing enterprise-grade authentication with minimal friction.
Creating an Account
- Visit breakwater.techgonecoastal.com/sign-up
- Sign up with email/password or Google OAuth
- Verify your email address
- Complete your profile (name, organization)
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
MFA is supported and can be enforced at the organization level. When using Channel (secure remote access), MFA may be required by device-level access policies.
Roles
| Role | Description | Permissions |

| Owner | Organization owner | Full access, billing, user management |
| Admin | Site administrator | Manage sites, devices, policies, view all data |
| Engineer | OT/ICS engineer | Access assigned sites, connect to devices, view dashboards |
| Vendor | External contractor | Time-limited access to specific devices, requires approval |
| Auditor | Compliance reviewer | Read-only: view recordings, audit logs, reports |
Session Management
- Sessions are managed by Clerk with configurable timeouts
- Active sessions are visible in your account settings
- Admins can view and terminate user sessions from the platform
